Work in progress

Shawn, Theresa, and Rebecca

Today, we started to discuss our topic and started gathering information and resources. We looked up a few online sources and are planning to go to the library sometime this weekend. Then we each did our pre-assessment and submitted them on the Wiki.

Pre-assessment questions

1.Why did you select this topic? What do you hope to learn?
2.What concerns do you have at this time?
3.What is the biggest asset you will bring to the group.

Shawn:

1. I selected the topic because it is something I am interested in. I hope to learn how to educate the children of migrant workers if I run across any in teaching.
2. At this time, the biggest concern would be the gathering of sources. It takes more time to gather sources than it does to actually do a project, so that is my only concern right now.
3. I am a helpful group member and willing to research the topic. I am very good with grammar and writing so I will be able to proofread our posts. I am also a confident public speaker, so I will be able to help with the teaching.

Becky:

1.I selected the topic because it sounded interesting to me and it is close to me. I want to know more about the educational process of the children of migrant workers, especially those who work the Renaissance Faire circuit.
2. My concern would be finding enough information on the topic.
3. I am a very organized person and will be able to keep everything organized.

Theresa:

1. I selected the topic because i thought it sounded interesting. I want to know what it is like to learn on the road and how it is different.
2. I'm concerned about being in two other education classes that have major projects due in the next month.
3. I love to think out of the box and play devils advocate, so i will be able to bring a new perspective on our topic to the group.

Things are going well for our group. We have started our research on our topic and have met a few times outside of class to do some work on it. We are starting to really gather sources and information for the project, and are learning new things in the process. All in all, the group is making headway and doing well.
